From Our CEO’s Desk

Happy springtime!

A spring in which Passover, Ramadan and Easter come together ! Is a sign of growth and development.

We are proud to present the activities of EEW, which, in the past year have grown and expanded, as we have extended the range of services for businesswomen. From the dream and its fulfillment stage in “A Business of One’s Own“ training programs, along with mentoring programs and forums for enriching our graduates with essential and phase-adapted tools, to establishing communities in both virtual and physical spaces throughout the country.

The changing labor market requires flexibility and getting familiarized with the various options available for earning a living and running a business.
The evaluation and feedbacks over the years clearly reflect the fact that the EEW’s training programs indeed change lives and affect women's belief in their own ability to achieve financial independence and bring about change in their lives and the lives of those around them

We wish to thank the EEW’s management, its partnering local authorities, and supporters for paving the way for economic independence for women.

(A Business of One’s Own" programs (first quarter"

The program includes 27 business sessions, combined with business and financial management, and personal empowerment.
Participants take part in large and small groups meetings as well as personal consultations.
Our programs are held nationwide and are intended for a variety of populations, including Arab and ultra-Orthodox women in:
Shefar’Am, Yokneam/Megido, Jerusalem, Beit-Shemesh, Bat-Yam and Beer Sheva

Business forums

A national Zoom forum for businesswomen, supported by Bank Hapoalim. An opportunity for networking and exchange of knowledge for business owners from all over the country.

Shefar’Am forum in Arabic for business owners from the region, supported by the First International Bank.

Sakhnin / Araba forum and Beit Shemesh / Jerusalem forum with the support of the New York Jewish Federation. In March, a joint meeting for both groups was held.

The Haifa Club for Businesswomen

Haifa Businesswomen’s Club was established in response to a need rising from the field during the corona period, to create a community for businesswomen from Haifa, representing the variety of occupations and populations that exist in city
The community’s goal is to give business owners a virtual and physical space that enables knowledge acquisition, implementation of tools, and networking activities
The community holds workshops and lectures once a month

Professional workshops

Nationwide workshops for EEW graduates and additional business women.
The workshops include 3 weekly Zoom sessions, on a variety of topics (business and empowerment).
The YouTube channel on the EEWs website includes 49 recorded lectures with 1,058 views. In light of business owners' need to expand the tools and practical products for promoting their business, "mini-workshops" were produced, which allow for experiencing, practicing and preparation of various marketing products, accompanied by facilitators who are highly professional in their fields.

Personal consultations

Each businesswoman that graduated the “A Business of One’s Own“ program is entitled to professional guidance consisting of 5 personal consultations to promote her business The consultations are conducted by expert facilitators in a variety of professional areas aiming at the development and promotion of the business, and are subsidized by EEW. Staff development

Every two months sessions are conducted for enrichment, peer learning, service improvement and training, and for the enjoyment of being together for facilitators, staff and the EEW's management

A spoken Arabic course

We completed our spoken Arabic course (occupational), along with members of the staff, board, and volunteers with teacher Hittam Naamana, who familiarized us with the Arabic language, customs and tradition.

Within ten lessons and in a good atmosphere, she was able to give us basic knowledge on how to conduct a simple conversation, even to those with no prior knowledge.

Volunteering and involvement

In 2021, after research and learning, defining goals and needs, developing and building infrastructure, the volunteering department of the EEW was established, accompanied by volunteer Sigal Friedman Gamlieli.

Fully motivated and committed volunteers who joined us:

1. Administrative management Sara Zilberman and Sara Mairovich

2. Guest lecturers in programs and in "Lectures from home".

3. Mentors for personal accompaniment of Haifa graduates, in collaboration with the social incubator of the Technion and the Rupin Academic College.
